Spring has Sprung!

I spent a whole 3 hours in the garden this morning, hoody off and caught some warmish sun. I even got some decent photo’s. What a difference a week makes. Last week was freezing and it was a quick point and take. This week I have even decided an optimum place to take photos of potted plants.
New plant count this week 11 with 2 Sedums. Sedums Makioni (Japanese Sedum) and Sedum Album Rosedum.
Here Goes
1. Better late than never Crocus’s
I have some small mixed Crocus’s that have been flowering around the front for a month but finally my “Super” crocuses have bloomed and I have even seem my first pollinator variety at the front is Jeanne D’Arc and it is a Dazzler.
2. Saxifraga Pink Star
Youi can’t go wrong with a Saxifraga and this one is a prolific flowerer. It’s nice to have the weather and the time to take a decent photo.
3. Echeveria Agovaides
I like Echeveria but the climate in Northumberland is not kind during the winter months. I bought this for £4 at Morrison’s last November and have been growing it on a South facing window sill. I have now brought it out side and I plan this to be one of my centre pieces for the garden table in the summer. I think it may be a red tip but at the moment there is not much rouge.
4. Tulips
My first year of growing Tulips. I can remember my grans garden having a lot of tulips. having just taken up gardening properly I had to get some. I have Tulip Carnival de Rio and Blue Amicable amongst others. Hopefully these will flower soon.
5. Primula denticula
Nothing says spring more than a primrose. I have got 2 different colour denticula’s white and purple and they are cracking flowerers.
6. Better late than never Aconite
After what seems to be an eternity my Aconites have finally flowered and they were worth the wait. I was jealous of some of the pictures on other peoples blogs a few weeks ago but the wait was worth it.

The crocus flowers look good, but I reckon the Saxifraga looks even better! I just wish I’d kept the plant labels for some of my succulents, as I haven’t a clue what most of them are now!

I hope to take a look at your tulip flowers next week! … Rio carnival ones seem to be … folkloric! No photos of sedums this week?

Those super crocuses live up to their name. Just, wow . . . man, your aconite took its time. But really worth the wait. Lovely.

You had more sun in Northumberland than we had in Sussex today. Your aconites are lovely and cheery and I like that Echeveria. Your tulips are looking very healthy too – I planted Bleu Aimable last year and they were lovely – they weren’t blue to begin with and I felt cheated, then they turned blue, so be patient!

‘Jean d’Arc’ crocus always looks better in someone else’s garden. They really do not do that well here. Nor do they naturalize reliably. I really want to try them again because I like white, but I stick with ‘Pickwick’ if I plant any at all.
Primula denticula is one that I am not familiar with.

A lovely six! I really like the saxifraga. I wonder if it will grow here,bearing in mind we get very hot summers.

Oh I don’t know os the answer. It would be a pity if you can’t. Mind you just red ypir nlog and there are some blooms I couldn’t grow over here. Lovely photos!
